Procedure:
1) Unpack monitor box, remove packing foam and plastic bag.
2) Remove back cover and base.
3) Remove top and metal cover.
4) Remove bottom metal chassis and main board metal frame.
5) Pull out main board and disassemble main board from all the metal frames.
6) Change T401 from 2036 to 2036A, if necessary. (Some units may have 2036A installed already).
7) Remove HIC401.
8) Change HIC402 from PT1 to PT1A, if necessary. (Some units may have PT1A installed already).
9) Add resistor, carbon film 100K Ohm-1/4W on PCB pattern-side of R920.
10) Remove Q413 and R444.
11) Change R460 from 51 Ohm–1/4W to 22 Ohm-1/4W resistor.
12) Remove BC401, P/N BICD3857, then insert resistor, carbon film 0.68-1W.
13) Add expansion board, PWB90I to location HIC401. Align pin #1 by facing component side of PWB90I toward component side of main board.
14) Use jumper lead wire to connect Pin #2 of PWB90I to main board location R420 (J464 Side).
15) Use jumper lead wire to connect Pin #7 of PWB90I to main board location Q416 (“S”).
16) Use jumper lead wire to connect main board location Q413 to T403/R416 (See diagram).
17) Fix each jumper wire by jam-melt so they don’t move. Make sure each jumper wire is clear of screws when installed.
18) Change D814 from 1N4937 to D2L diode. 19) Change D420 from UF4005 to S2L60 diode.
20) Change D419 from UF4007F to RGP02-16E diode.
21) Add fusible resistor 1 Ohm-1/4W on the center pattern of Q416 after cutting pattern of Q416 center pin.
22) Fix Neck PCB by jam-melt so that it will not move after being reassembled.
23) Adjust VR901 to 26KV, using a high voltage probe.
24) Adjust brightness and focus.
Tips:
No Raster - Check Q414 (MJW16212), Q416 (2SK2341), D806 (S2L60), D807 (D2L20U), D818 (1N4935), replace any if bad.
Vertical Band - Check and replace Q415 (BU2525AF) if bad.
